In the harbor city, the activist collective claimed thirty thousand participants had protested from the central park to a nearby green space in the city center after a intended demonstration to the iconic venue was banned by the legal authorities last week.

NSW police approximated eight thousand participants attended the local rally, with a representative reporting there had been "no significant incidents".

Countrywide Protests Mark Anniversary

Demonstrations were also organized in Victoria's capital, Queensland's capital and west coast metropolis on the weekend to remember the ongoing situation after militant actions on October 7th, 2023 killed about 1,200 people in the region.

"Concerning the protest efforts, we'll definitely persist to demonstrate for Palestinian freedom... for self-determination in Gaza, for aid to be allowed in and for Palestinians to be able to rebuild Gaza," stated an activist.

Differing Opinions to Peace Deal

Numerous demonstrators voiced optimism that the truce might bring permanent peace. Others were sceptical of American participation and encouraged participants to maintain pressure on the national authorities to apply measures and stop arms transactions.

One protester, a local with Palestinian heritage based in Australia, expressed he wished the arrangement could permit him to assist his senior relative, who is still in Gaza without medical attention, to his current home, and to find and bury his family members, who have been unaccounted for since that year.

Jewish Australians Organizes Memorial

Separately, many individuals attended a Jewish memorial service on Sunday night in eastern Sydney to mark the second anniversary of the 2023 incidents. Geoffrey Majzner, the family member of someone affected, an Australian citizen who was deceased in the incident, was arranged to talk.

There were hopes for soon return of 20 remaining hostages in the region and those killed on 7 October. The Israeli ambassador, the official, paid tribute to the strength of victims. The crowd booed when he spoke about the Australian prime minister and the top diplomat.

Boat Activists Share Experiences

The local protest earlier heard from speakers including multiple nationals released from Israeli detention after the stopping of the protest boats recently.

One activist, his arm in a sling after it was said to be harmed in an detention facility, informed that not enough was known about the truce arrangement. International aid organisations, including Unrwa and Unicef, were organizing to reach the region.

"While circumstances persist where there's a harsh and unlawful restriction on the territory," said the participant, boat protesters would keep working to deliver aid by sea.

A different activist, who came back to the city on the end of the week, gave an heartfelt address recounting his imprisonment with dozens of fellow detainees in a detention facility.

Leadership Remarks

The political representative the politician told the crowd: "We cannot let a reality where the former president decides the destiny of Palestinians to be the type of reality we accept."

Another organiser who filed the initial request to protest at the iconic venue asserted that the participants could have peacefully gone to the famous harbourside venue. The senior police representative had earlier informed the court of appeal that the proposal seemed problematic.

The activist stated at the event: "Every single time the law enforcement seeks to prevent our rallies or take us to the supreme court, it wakes up a lot of people... to the importance of gathering and resist these measures."
